Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee/Budget Briefing
Summer time is budget season in the City of Miami Beach. This Friday, the Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee will propose what projects get funded for the upcoming fiscal year.
Slow streets is one of the most significant items and city staff currently has it listed as unfunded! This is a huge problem. A successful, permanent installation of the award winning slow streets pilot can transform the way residents and visitors travel through South Beach.
This is one of only a few projects on the proposed budget that will enhance mobility, calm traffic, and reduce carbon emissions.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Write your commissioners and ask them to be Slow Street Champions (email addresses below). This is the only way to ensure that your opinions are heard. Public comment may or may not be taken at the meeting.
Attend the Finance Committee Meeting in person this Friday at City Hall.
